- Role: I work with the infrastructure team to maintain and develop the backend of Aerlytix.
- About Aerlytix:
- Aerlytix provides an advanced tracking and analysis solution to aircraft leasing firms and airlines.
- Enables firms to accurately model aircraft maintenance costs, manage aircraft leases and monitor fleets.
Diona
- Software Engineer (March 2024 - July 2026)
- Role: I worked with the development team to create and maintain Diona's suite of mobile apps (both iOS & Android development).
- About Diona:
- Diona provides a suite of mobile applications for government health and human services agencies around the world.
- Products include:
- Visits: an app to enable social service caseworkers to securely access case files on iPad/Android tablet devices. Includes offline mode features to enable caseworkers to continue their work even in areas where connectivity is limited.
- SelfService: a citizen facing app to enable people to fill out applications for welfare, make child maintenance payments and communicate with caseworkers.
- Other apps: Investigations, Placements, Child Support, Connect, Reporter, Uploads
- Apps are highly configurable solutions, which enables them to be easily adapted to a wide variety of client requirements.
BrowserStack
- Senior Software Engineer (May 2019 – July 2023)
- About BrowserStack:
- The core product is a fleet of 1000s of real physical mobile devices in several datacenters around the world.
- Developers and testers who subscribe to Browserstack are given access to launch remote sessions on any device they choose in order to test their apps / products. They may also run suites of automated tests across large ranges of devices.
- The fleet includes a huge variety: iPhones, iPads, Pixels, Samsungs, Huawei, Motorola, OnePlus, Vivo etc. Each is available in many different OS versions - for example, the oldest iPhone available is the iPhone 7 (iOS 10).
- Role:
- I worked on the mobile platform team, and later on the mobile infrastructure team.
- Responsibilities included: developing new features, improving platform performance, maintaining platform stability and rapidly responding to downtime incidents.
- Accomplishments:
- Developed an android Device Owner app to provide an MDM solution for our device farm. Combined with the use of android test harness, this reduced android device release times from weeks to day zero releases.
- Automated Apple developer certificate provisioning for the iOS device farm.
- Implemented crypto mining detection by scanning DNS events in customer sessions.
- Implemented ADB ruby wrapper gem for general use of engineering team.
- Migrated chrome and chromedriver installations from manual to automated deploys.
- Improved code quality by enforcing code linting checks across our codebase.
- Optimised device farm uptime by adding metrics to identify and resolve downtimes.
